On The Last Day of the World I Would Want to Plant a Tree - W. S. Merwin
How many trees are in the world?
The answer is that the world is home to over 3 trillion trees. Is that a lot?
3.04 Trillion trees make for almost 422 trees per person. The bottom line is that while 3 Trillion may seem like a lot of trees to the common man, we can’t afford to go all “that’s a lot of trees!”- because it’s not!
The trees are important to humans, not just for their products, but also for their ability to foster biodiversity, store carbon, preserve water quality, and perform other ecosystem services.
How many trees in your life have you planted or supported some initiative?
There’s nothing like getting out into nature and spending time amongst trees to restore some balance in your life.
Please take a look at the trees that I photographed during my trips and walks.
